Bosisto’s set to launch new TVC campaign this Australia Day bringing to life the Bosisto’s Parrot

Parrot ad2.jpgIconic heritage brand Bosisto’s – makers of Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil – is launching a new TVC campaign this Australia Day, bringing to life the Bosisto’s Parrot, a famous feature of its red and green label since 1852.

In a marketing first in the brand’s 162 year history, the ads, created by Admark, Melbourne, will feature the Bosisto’s Parrot, played by a costumed character actor, popping up in a series of scenarios with a ‘real life’ family.

The Parrot helps solve their household dilemmas using Bosisto’s innovative range of essential oil sprays, including Eucalyptus Spray, Lavender Spray and Tea Tree Spray.  A tagline encourages shoppers to ‘Pick up the Parrot’ in store or go to the website to find out more handy hints and uses.

“It’s a new take on an Aussie product generations of families know and love,” said Bosisto’s executive director Tegan Abbott. “Almost everyone’s seen or used a bottle of the Parrot brand Eucalyptus oil – but usually just associate it with coughs and colds.

“Now we want to spread our ‘wings’ so to speak, and educate people that there’s a whole world out there beyond those traditional uses.

“Bosisto’s Sprays are incredibly versatile around the home. From cleaning to relaxation to freshening pet areas they can help replace hundreds of harmful chemicals creating a healthier, safer environment for the family.”

Ms Abbott said it was a nice synergy to launch the campaign on Australia Day, given Bosisto’s was a 100% Australian-owned family company.

“We’re still fully Australian owned which is quite a big deal after so many years,” Ms. Abbott said. “Bosisto’s Eucalyptus Oil was actually Australia’s first indigenous export and our products are still made right here in Melbourne.

“Bosisto’s is one of the nation’s oldest surviving heritage brands – older than Vegemite, Aussie Rules and even the Hills Hoist!  We are very proud of our local history.”

The new Bosisto’s TVC’s will launch on Foxtel on Australia Day, January 26.
