McMillan has over 20 years’ experience in advertising and is widely recognised as one of the best account service people in the business. Since joining Clemenger BBDO Melbourne in 2006, he has led the agency on the Carlton United Breweries account – one of the biggest accounts in the country.

His outstanding leadership qualities have led him through a series of rapid promotions at the agency, from group account director in 2006 to client service director in 2008, followed by managing partner in 2011.

CEO Peter Biggs says that Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has been fortunate to achieve significant growth in recent years, and McMillan will help the leadership team to exploit new opportunities.

Says Biggs: “Growth brings with it opportunities and challenges – and to grab those new opportunities and meet those challenges, we are adding extra firepower to the agency’s leadership.”

McMillan is excited by the prospect: “I’m really looking forward to working with Biggsy and James McGrath and the leadership team here at Clemenger to build on the extraordinary success of the agency, and continue to build world-class campaigns for our fantastic clients.”

With McMillan’s elevation to managing director, Clemenger BBDO Melbourne has appointed group account director Adrian Mills, who will join the agency from McCann in Melbourne next week.

Mills was part of the team on the record-breaking ‘Dumb Ways To Die’ campaign, and McMillan says he is one of the best suits in Australia, if not the world.

Says McMillan: “Adrian is one of the world’s most awarded account service people. We are thrilled to have him on board, he really gets the work, and he has the added bonus of being a seriously good bloke.
