Ellis, who currently works at Black Sheep Advertising, won the gold pencil at Award School last year. Naetzker, was named in the Young Guns ’20 Guns’, is now hoping to land a gig in Melbourne.

James Croxford and Adam Slater from BWM came runners up, both coming top 10 at Melbourne Award School last year.

MADC and The Age’s “Creative Raw” challenge gave young creatives the opportunity to impress Melbourne’s creative leaders. The chairman of the day, JWT’s executive creative director Richard Muntz, opened the challenge with a creative workshop before mentoring the talent with Dave Scott, Chris Rogers and Georgia Hofman.

The pressure peaked as the teams were given one minute to make their mark amongst the judging panel of Amy Hollier, George Frenkleton, Michelle Walsh, Millicent Malcolm and Andrew Woodhead.

The day produced a high caliber of creative work that demonstrated the pool of young talent that Melbourne has to offer and pushed the medium of newspaper to new limits.
