SayGDAY.jpgIndependent Grocers of Australia, IGA, is celebrating Australia Day with the launch of its new campaign ‘Say G’day Day’ via Creative Oasis. Through this campaign IGA is encouraging locals to go in store and say ‘G’day’.

‘Say G’day Day’ will be supported by the release of a modern version of the classic Australian song, ‘G’day G’day,’ made famous by Slim Dusty.

Encompassing the fun, honest and slightly cheeky elements of Australia, IGA has enlisted a collection of up-and-coming independent Australian artists to produce a modern version of the iconic tune.

From today, customers are encouraged to download and share Vienna People’s free ‘G’day G’day’ track in celebration of Australia Day. The track will be available to stream and download until April 19th 2014.

IGA’s fully integrated Australia Day campaign will also be supported by Adshel outdoor- advertising and across IGA’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter platforms. Customers will be surprised on Twitter as IGA delivers personalised Australia Day sketches by two Australian artists. With a dedicated Australia Day section on the IGA website, customers will find great G’day recipes, products and offers to enjoy.

Michele Teague, general manager marketing at Metcash Food & Grocery is excited to provide something enjoyable to local IGA customers this Australia Day:

Says Teague: “As the Independent Grocers of Australia, IGA retailers want to give back to our customers this Australia Day. By resurrecting the household classic, ‘G’day G’day’ we want to celebrate everything that is great about being Australian, encouraging the whole country to sing along and say G’day to each other.

“With over 1,400 stores across the country, no matter where our customers celebrate this Australia Day, there will be an IGA or SUPA IGA just around the corner where locals can pop in and say G’day.”

IGA’s ‘G’day’ campaign will run from January 19th until April 19th 2014.
