KOJO - NICHOLAS CARLTON (HIGH).jpgAward winning director Nicholas Carlton has joined the roster of exclusive content directors at national integrated storytelling company Kojo, in its Melbourne office.

Says Jessica Norton, Kojo executive producer: “Nicholas is one of those rare finds where ‘he’s one with the lot’. He’s a perfect fit for Kojo as he has an incredible understanding of the diversity of content. Nicholas created 24 webisodes in 2009 that catapulted him to the forefront of digital film making. This in itself demonstrates he’s a trailblazer in understanding new opportunities and running with them. Not only is he a talented director, but he also edits – giving him complete control over the final product.”

His short documentary about a WWII airforce navigator, The Navigator, was distributed by Australia’s national broadcaster, the ABC. Carlton has also showcased his talents in commercial work for brands including Hyundai, Holden, Dulux, Beyond Blue and Telstra.

Carlton has produced work viewed by millions of people and has spoken to industry bodies SPAA and AFTRS about cutting-edge filmmaking and digital distribution. He has also been recognised at worldwide festivals such as the New York Television Festival and the Webby Awards.

Says Carlton: “Recent developments in technology have proven that it can take out-of-the-box thinking to engage audiences. My philosophy has always been to fuse traditional storytelling principles with innovative approaches. With their integrated, multi- disciplinary approach, it was exciting to come across a company that shared this ethos. I’m really excited to take the next step in my career as a director with Kojo.”
