As part of its ongoing commitment to growth and development, Starcom Australia has announced the appointment of Martin Hadley (far left) to the role of client services director, and the promotion of Chris Vance (near left) to strategy director Melbourne.

Hadley joins Starcom from PHD and has more than 20 years’ experience in the Australian and South East Asian media industry, including stints at Euro RSCG and MindShare working with brands such as MasterCard, HSBC, eBay, PayPal and Nestle.

In his new role, Hadley will head up the Metcash business nationally.

Says Chris Nolan, Starcom CEO: “There are few people in the industry with Martin’s skills and experience. We’re extremely pleased he has chosen to join Starcom.”

Meanwhile, Starcom Melbourne has strengthened its strategy offering with the appointment of experienced international media strategist Vance as strategy director.

The role is a promotion for Vance who relocated to Sydney from Starcom’s Chicago office in 2012 to work as a senior strategist.

Reporting to national strategy director Patrick Whitnall, Vance’s new role will see him lead the Melbourne agency’s strategic offering.

Vance’s experience stretches over 10 years both in Australia and the US on brands such as Luxottica, Metcash, Radio Shack, and Best Buy.

Says Whitnall:  “Chris has a great ability to understand the human connections that drive value between brands and people, he does a great job of telling brand stories though meaningful experiences for our clients’ brands, and we can’t wait to have him join our Melbourne office.

“We are thrilled to be able to support Chris with this move, it’s great to have the depth of talent in our business to be able to promote from within.”

Vance will be replaced in Sydney by Sophia Poulten who joins Starcom most recently from MediaCom Sydney.
