Titled “Five Kangaroos”, the song uses an Australian outback setting to teach kids around the world about the number five.

When asked how it felt to write a song for such an iconic show that has featured superstars Johnny Cash, Paul Simon and Katy Perry, Kinmonth said: “It’s a great honour to write for a show with as much musical history as Sesame Street. The bar is clearly set very high, so I think that helped me bring out my best work.”

It seems to have worked, with the composer invited to write another track for the show in 2014.

Says Kinmonth: “Working with a talent like Jess was a truly great experience. She’s a fantastic musician and brought so much to the creative process.”

While the song was recorded with Carbon Media in 2013, Kinmonth is also expanding his freelance work in Australia and the USA. He has recently worked on music for the Brisbane Broncos, as well as working on campaigns by Sony, Coca-Cola, Subway, Credit Union Australia and Cascade Brewery.
