DDB Worldwide celebrates 2014 International Women’s Day with website via DDB Chicago

Screen Shot 2014-03-07 at 7.25.33 am.jpgIn celebration of 2014 International Women’s Day (IWD), DDB Worldwide, part of Omnicom Group (OMC; NYSE), has today announced the launch of “Empower,” a website featuring photos of real women from across the DDB Network via DDB Chicago.

Slated to launch on Friday, March 7, “Empower” will be accompanied by tweets from female employees on @DDB_Worldwide, which will answer the question, “What empowers you?” IWD is celebrated globally on March 8, and recognizes the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.

The “Empower” website was inspired by the movement to portray real women in the media a la Getty Images’ recent “Lean In Collection.”

 

Says Sally Ali, chief talent officer of DDB Worldwide: “By featuring the real faces of our female employees on the “Empower” website, we are bringing together the women of the agency on a global scale to amplify this year’s powerful IWD message, Inspire Change.”

 

In addition to “Empower,” DDB will host volunteer events and panel sessions across offices in North America. Getty Images’Director of Visual Trends Pam Grossman will present the “Lean In Collection” to DDB New York on Friday, March 7. The presentation will feature an exclusive Q&A with Grossman, moderated by Janet Guillet, executive creative director of DDB New York, and the agency will share key takeaways on Twitter, @DDBNEWYORK.

 

Also, DDB California will be launching an online video to celebrate the large number of women employees at the office in San Francisco, showcasing the diversity and empowerment of women at DDB. The video will be released on March 7 in conjunction with the rest of the network’s IWD initiatives.

In addition, DDB Worldwide’s website will a homepage takeover of photos from “Empower.” Lastly, chief creative officer Amir Kassaei’s “Lemon 2020” blog will be guest authored by Lisa Bennett, EVP/creative of DDB North America, which is slated to break on Friday, March 7.
