David Barker_Director.jpgDavid Barker (left) is an international award-winning director of drama, TV commercials, documentaries and music clips. As co-creator of both Film Headquarters and Taxi Films in Queensland, Barker directed over 150 TVCs for Australian and international markets, before relocating to Sydney to further his filmmaking career.

Recently, Barker received his second Australian Directors Guild Award for Best Director in 2013 with his groundbreaking Cross Platform Music Video for Melbourne rockers ‘Stonefield’. His work on the acclaimed sci-fi comedy web-series, ‘The Future Machine’, which he co-created, co-wrote, directed and produced, saw him take home an Outstanding Achievement in Direction at the L.A. Webfest. And his short film, ‘Creating Fortune’ screened at The Dungog and Clare Valley Film Festivals.

Says Henry Motteram, managing director, The Precinct: “David’s experience across short and long form content is a perfect fit for The Precinct. We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to producing some great work together.”

Barker’s years working closely with actors on performance driven projects, his photographic background and his ability to design in-camera effects and post heavy visual treatments, finds him happiest working at the intersection of these three disciplines.
