SWM - 5.jpgLeo Burnett Sydney has dominated at ADFEST walking away with 21 awards and the title of the most awarded agency in Australia.

Despite fierce competition, with this year’s 17th annual awards show attracting over 3,200 entries from 41 cities, Leo Burnett Sydney has also been named the second most awarded agency in Asia Pacific.

Says Shahir Zag, jury president of Outdoor Lotus, and chief creative officer Y&R MENA Dubai: “The Outdoor category has become more digital than digital. It is not only hijacking digital technology but inventing new technology. Leo Burnett’s ‘Small World Machine’s won Grande because it’s future-proofed, breathtakingly fresh and reminds us what it is to be human. It’s got everything.”

Also among Leo Burnett Sydney’s haul of awards are the prestigious INNOVA Lotus (celebrating outstanding innovation ideas for communication) and two Lotus Roots (recognising ideas inspired by local cultures) for “Small World Machines” and “Road to Recovery” for Bundaberg Rum (Diageo). Awards have also been won for “Run That Town” for The Australian Bureau of Statistics and “Comets” for Smirnoff Double Black (Diageo).

This is one of the first big international awards shows of the year so it is fantastic to see Leo Burnett Sydney making such a strong start and being honoured on the world stage in this way.”

Along with the recognition and accolades, Coca-Cola was named ‘Advertiser of the Year 2014’ and the raft of wins for “Small World Machines” certainly played a major role in that.
