Charged with developing private brand architecture and design, the agency will also focus on customer experience and in-store design. Additionally Designworks will work closely with its sister company, Added Value, on market insight elements relating to the project scope.

Says Tim Riches, managing director Australia, Designworks: “We are delighted to start the year by adding Officeworks to our client roster. I think our strategic thinking and breadth of design delivery across the customer experience puts us in a good position to be useful to Officeworks as it looks at some pretty important opportunities within its business.”

Riches said the pitch process had focused on the application of design thinking and diverse skills to complex business challenges. The account will be led from Designworks Melbourne, tapping into the skill base of the broader Designworks team.

Says Karl Winther, national marketing manager, Officeworks: “We were looking for an agency with the particular skills and experience in strategy to develop our private brand architecture and development. Designworks impressed us with a fresh perspective and ability to integrate meaningful consumer insights into their design process.”
