Leading industry professionals from Clemenger BBDO, UM, Reload Media, Eagle Boys Pizza, PPR and The White Agency will speak to university students tonight at a sell-out event in Brisbane.

Youngbloods is an initiative of the Communications Council that helps students and young professionals break into the advertising, media, marketing and communications industries.

Anna Kelly, Queensland Youngbloods co-chair, said the event will host six very different professionals from various roles.

Says Kelly: “As the borders of these industries become more and more blurred and new roles continually become created, we thought it essential to host an event specifically dedicated to showcasing the directions one’s career may take.

“Through hearing the speakers’ stories of employment, what they like or dislike about their job and future directions they plan to take, we hope members will be inspired to prescribe their own career.

“With ‘Prescribing Your Career’, a dose of real-life experience and the recommended future dosage of Youngbloods networking, we think our members are well on their way to a healthy happy career.”

Over $1000 in prizes will be given out on the night including a prestigious internship at Junior Cru Agency and an AdSchool Australia workshop supplied by the Communications Council Queensland.

Anyone working in industry, in their final year of studies, or new to the industry can become a member. Membership is free and includes industry news, educational events and updates about the social networking opportunities that Youngbloods run throughout each year.
