It was selected by a panel of judges for the Original Short Film category from over 50,000 stories, images and videos published on the Guardian Witness Website since it was launched in April.

‘Monday’ has already won the Bronze Award in the short film section of the Australian Effects and Animation Festival and has had more than 100,000 views on Vimeo and YouTube. It has been shown at various festivals and featured on over 300 blogs including the Sydney Morning Herald Website.

Monday_1080_sofa.jpgSays Stefan Wernik, co-director: “We made the film partly because we love animation but also as a promotional tool to show clients how branded content such as short films can have a much longer shelf life and a wider appeal than some traditional advertising.”

Says Guy Jamieson, co-director: ‘We’ve been amazed by the response and we’re looking forward to producing more shorts in the near future.”

The film has already brought several projects to the companies door and The Magnificent Itch is now working on a follow up called ‘Tuesday’.
