Sophie Madden_CEO_MFA.jpgIn response to an overwhelming demand from industry to take more action on social issues, the not-for-profit industry foundation for media, marketing and advertising, UN LTD, has launched an industry workplace giving solution – UN LTD GIVING.

UN LTD is the only industry foundation tackling the broad and significant social issue of youth disadvantage, and now via UN LTD GIVING offers a workplace giving program that enables all companies and individuals to give in ways that match their means and talent, whether by pre-tax payroll giving, team volunteering, group fundraising or personal mentoring.

Carol Morris, UN LTD general manager: “In a recent industry survey, 80 per cent of respondents indicated that they want the communications sector to leverage their power and influence to tackle social issues. This call to action for the industry to act as a collective is exactly what the UN LTD GIVING initiative offers via a simple and measurable program enabling all to join the movement, and contribute in a relevant and meaningful way.”

UN LTD is thrilled by the effort and contributions of the six companies involved over recent months in the UN LTD GIVING pilot program. These included TVN, Bohemia Group, Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB), Paykel Media Company, Media Federation of Australia (MFA) and Mi9, with another 20 companies under discussion.

Says Morris: “If the strong interest and results that UN LTD has seen in the infancy of UN LTD GIVING is anything to go by, we feel confident that we are well on our way to helping youth disadvantage and reaching our goal of involving 20 per cent of the media, marketing and advertising industry in this program by the end of FY15.”

Says Sophie Madden (pictured), MFA CEO: “The MFA team was privileged to meet some of UN LTD’s amazing beneficiaries last year and to talk with some of the young people whose lives have literally been saved through the programs that UN LTD supports. It was a simple decision for us to support the UN LTD GIVING initiative and help to tackle such a significant social issue.”

As the not-for-profit industry body representing over 4,000 companies and 220,000 individuals, UN LTD is empowering the media, marketing and advertising community to share their skills and position of privilege with those who need it most. UN LTD GIVING is just one of the solutions that UN LTD provides for the industry to activate social programs that align with the personal, ethical and strategic objectives of companies across the sector.

Of the funds raised by UN LTD GIVING, 100 per cent are dispersed to a range of youth focused organisations who have met UN LTD’s stringent assessment criteria and that operate in the space of undoing youth disadvantage.

As a first in market, UN LTD has partnered with GiveEasy to simplify the UN LTD GIVING payroll giving process for both employers and employees, creating an app supported program that simply requires employers to register an account and communicate with their staff, enabling their talent to nominate their pledge.
