The Feds bolsters executive team hiring Julia Peters in executive producer content + broadcast role and achieves global recognition at MipTV

ZombieBootcamp_image.jpgThe Feds, Australia’s next generation, screen content production house has appointed seasoned Australian television broadcast and production executive, Julia Peters to the newly created role of executive producer content & broadcast.

 

Peters, has served as an executive producer, drama supervisor, series and development producer across a variety of TV series with production companies including Essential Media and Entertainment, Eyeworks, Fremantle Media and across all the free-to-air Australian networks. Across her extensive content career she has also successfully piloted original formats for the North American market.

Supporting her impressive commercial production career, Peters recently held the position of Screen Australia’s investment deveIopment manager- documentaries, managing the multi-million dollar documentary funding slate for international and general funding programs.

 

In this newly created role Peters will bring her depth of experience to oversee current programming initiatives and drive future strategy for The Feds in a rapidly evolving market.

The new appointment follows the recent addition of director Claire Marshall to role of associate producer – development.

The Feds recently secured a portion of Screen Australia’s funding under the Enterprise Program.

 

The Feds will be showcasing its slate of recent and emerging cutting edge, cross-platform content at MIPTV (7-10 April, Palais des Festivals, Cannes, France), where its reality show ‘Zombie Boot Camp’ has been selected as one of five MIPFormats International Pitch competition finalists.

 

The MIPFormats International Pitch is the global pitching event for creators and producers around the world with original, non-scripted entertainment formats. For the third year, Warner Bros. International Television Production, the exclusive sponsor of the competition, oversaw the pre-selection and will spend up to €25,000 to develop the winning project of the MIPFormats Pitch. The MIPFormats International Pitch event will on take place on Sunday 6 April, during the 5th edition of MIPFormats (5-6 April 2014).

 

The finalists will pitch their projects live in front of an international jury of formats experts: Nick Emmerson, CEO, Ricochet (UK), Taco Ketelaar, senior vice president, Prime Time, Entertainment Sat.1, ProsiebenSat.1 TV Deutschland (Germany), Sandra Kleinfeld, director of development, studio & unscripted content, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (Canada), Cathrine Wiernik, head of development & format acquisitions, TV4 (Sweden).
