Wyong_Ani_01.jpgA short animated film by The Magnificent Itch is to be shown in Central Coast cinemas over the holidays. The two minute film is about the Tuggerah Lakes area and was made for Wyong Council.

The Council wanted to inform locals about the human impact on the Estuary and show how everyone can help. The film first rolled out on the internet and has been shown at educational sessions throughout the area before expanding to pre-show cinema entertainment.

Wyong_Ani_03.jpgThe film has also been accepted at the Golden Kuker International animation festival in Bulgaria as part of its Eco Film strand.

Says Stefan Wernik, co-director: “It’s great the film has been successful enough to expand to a cinema release, it’s an important message and one we feel passionate about so the bigger the Wyong_Ani_04.jpgaudience the better.”

Says Guy Jamieson, co-director: “The themes in the film are pretty universal so we’re glad the messages will get out there on the festival circuit too.”
