Australian Rugby Union returns with ASICS Rugby Rewards ultimate fan search via Pixolut

ARU1.jpgThe Australian Rugby Union is searching for the most passionate fan online in 2014 with the return of ASICS Rugby Rewards ahead of the forthcoming Castrol EDGE France Tour, which kicks off in Brisbane on 7 June. ASICS Rugby Rewards will give one person the chance to win the ultimate Qantas Wallabies team experience.

 

Supporting the Australian Rugby Union’s recently launched “We’re in. RU?” campaign, ASICS Rugby Rewards is centred on a Facebook app, created via Pixolut, that tracks the social activity of fans. The fan engagement app captures the active involvement of Wallaby fans and rewards them with the chance to win Qantas Wallabies prize packs including custom ASICS jerseys, tickets to the Castrol EDGE France Tour match of their choice and much more.

The Ultimate Fan (the fan that accumulates the most points in 2014) will receive a VIP experience to the John Eales Medal Ceremony in October including flights and accommodation, as well as their very own medal on stage.

 

Says John Nicholl, Australian Rugby Union general manager – commercial and marketing: “Through our research, we know fans want to feel as close to the game as possible. ASICS Rugby Rewards proved immensely popular with our fan base in 2013 and we are encouraging fans to show their support for the Wallabies throughout this year too.

 

“ASICS Rugby Rewards is a natural extension of the Australian Rugby Union’s “We’re In. RU?” campaign as we remain focused on connecting with our valued Rugby fan base.”

 

“We’re In. RU?” is a campaign platform, recently launched by the Australian Rugby Union that engages Rugby fans and gets them involved in the game. As part of the campaign, the ARU is releasing a three-part television commercial featuring Qantas Wallabies head coach Ewen McKenzie and current players Michael Hooper, Stephen Moore and Christian Leali’ifano – the first of which aired on Sunday (11 May).

 

The aim of ASICS Rugby Rewards is to rally discussion ahead of the Qantas Wallabies Test matches and get Rugby fans involved.
