Commencing June 1 on the CB WA Blog: Looking back on 30 years of CB WA – the people, the ads

| | No Comments

CBWA_Issue1_BLOG.jpgCampaign Brief WA’s first issue was published by Michael Lynch and Kim Shaw in the basement of Garry Mann’s West Perth design studio on June 15, 1984, which means we’re turning 30 next month.

So over the 30 days of June on the Campaign Brief WA Blog, we’re going to take a look back at the people and the ads that have defined the local industry and Campaign Brief WA.

We’ve been privileged to know some great people over our three decades. People who inspired us, gave us great content, and sometimes took us to task. And they’re also people who have been pivotal in the development of the local industry over that time. Keeping it to just 30 has been tough and we’ll be issuing many apologies at the end of the month.

And we’re going to pick what we think is best ad of each of our 30 years. Some years were rippers – 1998 for example, when half-a-dozen ads were done that would easily be in an overall ‘Top 30’. Other years were a little lean by comparison. Well, vintage or not-so, we’ll bite the bullet and pick the one that we reckon is the best.

If you’re originally from WA – or still there – see if you agree with our selections, feel free to nominate some of your own, and help celebrate 30 great years with us.
