Kirin Bit.Fall.jpgAs part of its “Inspired Cider” creative campaign, Kirin Cider via MC Creative, has commissioned the creation of a new art installation based on the incredible “Bit.fall” series.

Recreated as a visual art piece by Kirin Cider, “Kirin Bit.Fall” is the first time that this kind of installation will be seen outside of a gallery on the Australian mainland, and encourages viewers to engage with digitally generated art.

Kirin Bit.Fall will be officially unveiled at this year’s Semi-Permanent exhibition which kicks off today (Thursday, 22nd May) in Sydney. Attended by the who’s who in the design world, Semi-Permanent is one of the largest events of its type, and a leading international creative platform spreading art and design inspiration around the world.

Kirin Bit.Fall creates intrigue and real time participation. Controlled by specially designed software, the installation uses computer algorithms to search and integrate three pillars of content, which are then displayed as a mosaic of words at random;

1)      User generated – the adult audience has the opportunity to contribute to Kirin Bit.Fall via tweeting their inspired words to a dedicated hashtag during the event @Kirinbitfall

2)      Kirin curated – live feeds the event community will be infused and dropped with brand related words e.g. Inspired, discover, innovative, Fuji Apple

3)      Trending words – content will be pulled from current news website feeds gathering seemingly random words and displaying them

Syas Chris Fox, engineer at MC Creative: “The Kirin Bit.Fall” is all about audience participation and allows adult viewers to interact and help create art. It is a real win for us to be able to bring this amazing art piece to Australia, and where better to reveal it than the leading event for the art and design industry – Semi-Permanent.”

Says John Green, innovation director at Lion: “At the heart of Kirin Cider is Inspired Creativity. We’ve chosen to partner with Semi-Permanent and Bit.Fall as both are great examples of this. We hope in developing Kirin Bit.Fall it will really resonate with people who are interested in experimental art… and our ciders of course.”

Kirin Cider will also be offering attendees at Semi-Permanent the chance to meet some of the event speakers over a drink in some intimate “meet the speaker” sessions at the Kirin Bar. These include David Park, founder and creative director at Maud, photographer/film maker Cheryl Dunn and the creative directors of leading design agency Toby&Pete.

Following its tenure at Semi-Permanent, the Kirin Bit.Fall will tour creative events along the Eastern Seaboard during the coming months. Its next public appearance will be on Monday 26th May during VIVID Festival at COLOUR3; a pop-up light bar constructed out of illuminated water tanks. Lighting up Martin Place, Sydney during VIVID (22nd May – 1st June), COLOUR3 will be open from 5.30pm – midnight daily.
