Protein were short-listed as finalists after ‘Dandelion’ won the 2013 Sydney Design Awards in the same category.

Judges selected winning campaigns that displayed best practice and answered a brief in the most surprising and relevant manner. There has been no shortage of wins for the Dandelion campaign since it featured as one of ‘Best of iTunes’ by Apple and was published by Random House Australia as a printed children’s book.

The anti-bullying story about a little boy with big ideas has struck a chord with parents and the creative industry. Earlier in the year the project was awarded a Communicator Award of Excellence. Additionally Screen Australia have selected the sequel to the story, ‘Daisy Chain’, as a successful applicant for its Multi-Platform Production funding. Daisy Chain tackles cyber-bullying among girls and will be available at the end of the year.

Award-winning London born creative, Galvin Scott Davis, director of Protein wrote the story of Dandelion after one of his son’s was bullied and he could not find a book that allowed him to approach the subject in a creative way.

Says Davis: “We could never have imagined that our little story would touch so many and are proud that it stands as a testament to our Agency’s approach to innovative digital work. We had decided that it was time to invest back into our own stories in order to demonstrate to our clients that true digital storytelling can create engaging brands. I believe our talented team at Protein have surpassed our expectations with this project.”
