The promotion comes just over 18 months into his tenure at Y&R Auckland, in which time the agency has gone from strength to strength with a haul of new business wins, shiny Lions, and exciting new hires.

Y&R NZ’s chief executive Josh Moore says the agency is “very big on promoting good people into great roles within the network”.

Says Savage: “It’s been a powerful couple of years at Y&R and I couldn’t be prouder of what we’ve achieved and where the company is now compared to when I started back in 2012. It’s the worst possible time to be leaving the agency – just as it’s becoming a really cool place to be – but I couldn’t think of a better reason for leaving than to become associate CD on Land Rover. It’s a dream gig, in a dream city, working with really nice, frighteningly talented creative people. I’ll never fit in.”
