The advertising industry is known to stretch the truth when entering work into creative award shows. The Effie Awards are different. Only work that achieves real business results brings home the metal. So to encourage agencies to enter the 2013 Effie Awards, Whybin\TBWA interviewed the country’s top ECDs and CEOs about their most ‘successful’ campaigns. Only, we had a police-trained polygraph examiner perform the interviews. The campaign included online films, hand-stamped posters and a virtual polygraph machine, and culminated in a live polygraph test of Whybin’s own CCO during The Effies awards ceremony.

Minds For Minds are bringing two incredible sets of minds together in an attempt to make a global difference to those living with autism. A team of New Zealand’s top scientific minds are undergoing research to identify the genetic signatures of a mind affected by autism. To build awareness and generate donations for this cause, Whybin\TBWA demonstrated the contrasting perceptions of these two worlds through long copy that alternates between the perspectives of a mind affected by autism and the scientific minds that are studying them.

New Zealanders love to talk about rugby. And there’s no better place to learn the language than New Zealand Herald newspaper. With in-depth game reports and statistics galore, it delivers unmatched insights into the game. At the height of the Super Rugby season, Whybin\TBWA DAN Auckland created a series of posters that were put up depending on when and where each team was playing. Using colours and typography, it juxtaposes the laconic observations of an average rugby fan with in-depth analysis available to a Herald reader: the coloured strip represents the average fan and changes out depending on the team colours of the team that’s mentioned. The black side represents the Herald’s in-depth analysis of the game. Together, they create an insightful conversation about rugby that can only be achieved by reading the Herald.
