Newcastle Brown Ale imagines how great America would have been if Great Britain had won the Revolutionary War, via Droga5 New York

Droga5 New York has extended its successful Newcastle Brown Ale campaign and is asking you to imagine how great America would have been if Great Britain won the Revolutionary War.
And imagine how much beer Newcastle would’ve sold. The campaign asks Americans to raise their glasses in a toast on this July 3rd.

It should be really funny, but somehow its not….weird.
What? Not comments for this Aus? Can’t find someone to slag off??
This is fucking brilliant!!
Sorry but for me this is really irritating. I can’t work out if it’s the writing or Stephen Merchant, but it’s missing the mark of funny big time.
And I’m not an amateur hack and Ted, yes I owe you a beer or two too from the last time we met. I just really dislike this one.
Please prove me wrong.
The ad we could have made – now that’s genius. This Stephen Merchant prick… you kind of want to fuck him in the face.
In a nasty way.
Miles better than the Tiger beer crap!
Too long, repetitive, annoying, not funny, did it for the money.
Just bad.
(Beer’s good though).
not for me
derivative and predictable
unappetising bollocks
It was probably good on paper.
Did they use Stephen Merchant because they couldn’t get Ricky Gervais? Now that would have been funny!
‘ You kind of want to fuck him in the face. In a nasty way.’
Come on – you can do better than that.
For example.
‘I’m going to buy you a puppy. In 6 years, I’m going to be waiting for you in the park while you take that dog for a walk. I will grab the dog, burn him in front of you, mix his ashes with gunpowder, melt his dog tag into a little ball, load it all into an old revolver I stole from a museum, and shoot you in the face with him. I will shoot you in the face with your own dog.’
Obviously, just as an example.
Personally, I think the ad is quite funny.
Terrible
Very funny ad. Taking the piss out of Britain, which is what he knows.
