Digital Pulse launches inaugural event: Limelight
Leading Sydney content and animation specialists, Digital Pulse, this week launched “Limelight”, the first in a series of events designed to showcase their artists and most recent projects.
Held at Slide on Oxford, the seductive Burlesque lounge in Darlinghurst, guests were treated to a number of projection shows that explored the interplay between choreography, animation, voice, theatre and video mapping.
Internationally acclaimed breakdancer Will Sanchez and runner up for this years’ “So You Think You Can Dance”, Lauren Seymour, performed to a projection highlight show from Aquatique, produced for Sydney’s recent Vivid festival, showing incredible visuals from the Lion King, Australian Ballet, Strictly Ballroom and Bangarra amongst trolls and witches on a large water screen.
Guest contemporary dancer, Sarah Stollery, interacted with an intricate series of projected motion graphics depicting earth, wind and fire elements.
And in a piece originally directed by Ignatius Jones for the Australian Chamber Orchestra and The Presets’ latest show, Timeline, visuals representing 40,000 years of music were accompanied by the powerful vocals of Australian Idol’s, Roshani Priddis.
Guest DJ Ben Drayton provided the soundtrack to a 3D projection mapping installation. Guests enjoyed watching a spectacular array of motion graphics and 3D effects mapped on to a specially designed facetted sculpture.
Brett Heil, Managing DIrector says: “It was a fantastic night and a great way to show the myriad of disciplines the team at Digital Pulse can offer. Having been involved in so many local and international events over the years, it was fantastic to hold one of our own and treat our clients and guests to some well deserved entertainment.”
Tracey Taylor, Executive Producer says: “Limelight was conceived earlier this year for the purpose of showcasing some of the great work we do at Digital Pulse. We’re especially proud of our latest run of projects and are delighted to have been able to hold an event around it all. The future of Limelight excites us greatly as we plan to make it bigger and better with a hope to get more guest artists and performers involved, to collaborate and express themselves creatively in the world of Audio/Visual.”
