Westfield Chermside welcomes skaters + graffiti artists in a new activation via Media Playground
This winter school holiday, Westfield Chermside has allowed kids to skateboard and graffiti inside its shopping centre in a new ‘Skate + Create’ activation created by Brisbane creative and experiential agency, Media Playground.
The Skate + Create activation embraced the connection that sits between skateboarding and street art to deliver both a skate park and creative studio inside the shopping centre.
Over the campaign, artists such as Gemma O’Brien, Numskull, and up and coming Gold Coast skater Mikey Mendoza ran workshops and classes, giving the kids a chance to see their skills in action.
Says O’Brien: “When I was growing up there was nothing as cool as this, it’s definitely something new and exciting to do on school holidays.”
Says Mendoza: “Skate and Create is honestly the most unique skating event I’ve ever been to…the kids that are coming here are passionate about skateboarding, they are passionate about the sport and that’s what I’m here to help them with.”

so lame.
So they are paying to get the people in their property that their security people are paid to keep out.. I wonder why retailers resent paying money into marketing funds with ball tearer ideas like this. Clueless!!!!!!!!
