Guilty adds Benn Jae to directorial roster

Guilty are adding the multi-faceted Benn Jae to its roster of directors.

Jae is practically a household name in both the music video and fashion industry, having worked with celebrities like Lindsay Lohan, M.I.A. and Paula Abdul, and alongside greats such as David LaChapelle and Patrick Demarchelier.

His intimate understanding of still photography has evolved into a slow motion odyssey of beauty. Jae has worked his way through stylistically gritty, fat black & white neo-noir clips to evocative and colour-drenched flannelette music ever since Universal approached him to make the transition to music videos. Angus and Julia Stone, Boy and Bear, Grinspoon, Guy Sebastian, Natalie Bassingwaithe and The Potbelleez are among the list of artists that Jae has worked with.

Jae’s fashion oriented nous and multi-disciplinary background has also led to a recent appointment as creative director for the clothing label Death Suite, who have since launched one of the most successful street wear labels south of the equator.

Says Jae: “I’m stoked to be joining Guilty. I just love their work, and I feel it’s the right place for me to be as a director and photographer.”

Rohan Timlock, EP at Guilty is also excited about the addition to his ever growing roster.
