image003.jpgThe Strand Arcade has unveiled the latest volume of its paper 1891, to launch Spring/Summer 2014 and honour the remarkable retailers whose expertise and authentic know-how has been a signature of the arcade since 1891.

This season celebrates the concept of journey and the special stories and processes behind each unique designer and artisan.

image002.jpgSuper stylist Romy Frydman paints a perfect picture as curator for the season, bringing together an inspired team. International model Erin Heatherton is the epitome of holiday-chic glowing in the arms of Jordan Stenmark. The opening editorial evokes summer emotions with key looks from the coveted designers of the Strand Arcade.

Says Heatherton: “The shoot day for the Strand Arcade could not have been more heavenly, summer is really summed up by my experience on this shoot – sun, friends, beach, music and laughs.”

Floral prints, lace blouses and halter jumpsuits are the heroes for women; and crisp shirting, loafers and neutral tones are essential for men this summer. Frydman demonstrates her talent image004.jpgfor photography, capturing the unique mix of designers that make up the Strand community including; Lover, sass & bide, Jac + Jack, Scanlan Theodore, Manning Cartell, Isabel Marant at The Corner Shop and more.

The summer journey evolves from balmy days to steamy nights, with an evening editorial featuring songstress Matilda Dods. Photographer Simon Lekias, captures Dods wearing studded Chloe boots back with an embellished sass & bide look. A red gown by Alex Perry pops against the concrete warehouse location, adding to the drama of the story.

The unveiling of 1891 also marks the annual Evening With Our Designers event on Wednesday 13 August. Continuing the concept of journey, guests will meander from store to store experiencing one-night-only customised activations with the designers and artisans of the Strand Arcade.
