CliveBingwa_303Lowe.jpgCampaign Brief can reveal that 303Lowe’s National Media Director Clive Bingwa is leaving the agency and is tipped to be joining the Dentsu Aegis network in Perth in a senior position.

It’s not know what role Bingwa will assume at Dentsu Aegis, but it has been speculated for the past 2 months that he will eventually take over the Managing Director role, if and when current MD Alan Matthews decides to step back to an advisory role for the group.

Bingwa (pictured) is a shareholder in 303Lowe and leaves after over 15 years, having joined as a media manager and working his way up through the business.

Al Taylor, Group Managing Director, 303Lowe Perth, said: “After a decade and a half of unfaltering service and outstanding media leadership Clive has made the decision to pursue new interests. Clive has developed an incredible reputation in this market and the respect of the media and clients in this town. It perhaps goes without saying that Clive has been a major contributor to 303Lowe’s success – but 15 years is a long time for anyone in this business and naturally after that much time he is anxious to broaden his experiences and evolve his skills. He, and his impeccable fashion sense, will be missed.”

Bingwa said: “It is with much sadness that I announce my decision to leave 303Lowe. I am immensely proud of the agency and of the work we have achieved building an integrated media product. However, I feel it is time for me to pursue other interests.”

Taylor said an announcement regarding Clive’s replacement is imminent, as the agency remains committed to its integrated, bundled media product and full service offering.

303Lowe recently announced a number of promotions and new hires which saw Al Taylor promoted to Group Managing Director of the Perth based companies and Derry Simpson became Managing Director: Strategy & Innovation. The changes are part of an ongoing transformation of the agency following a raft of recent new business wins including: Perth Racing, Lend Lease Residential, Budget Direct and IMB Building Society.

Currently Alan Matthews is on a holiday in Europe and could not be contacted for comment. Matthews is Perth’s most influential and respected media professional and it is believed he has been very active in the recruiting of Bingwa to join the network.

A Dentsu Aegis spokesperson in Sydney could not confirm Bingwa’s appointment at this stage, but as mentioned earlier, Campaign Brief first heard strong rumours of his move to the network two months ago. The Dentsu Aegis Network in Perth includes media buying consultancies Carat, Vizeum and Mitchell & Partners.
