Brothers_w7.jpgFrank “Still Alive” Müller, Gary Gross Müller from Gary Gross photography and Willie Fantonio Müller from Cursor Ctrl are combining forces in a spanking new venture: Müller Brothers Photography.

These highly gifted and spectacularly awarded ‘brothers’ met in New York in the early 2000s. Each one is a fine image-maker in his own right and they have always yearned to make images together.

Says Gary Müller: “But not in a weird way. It’s almost as if we’re on a TV documentary about dudes who were separated at birth, had no contact for 40-odd years, then met up again to find that they were all pigeon breeders, had married chicks called Delphine, hated politics and were fully into snapping off insanely good pictures.”

Says Willie Müller, the retouching brother: “That’s exactly what it’s like. It’s good to be recognised as a true partner in the image making process.”

Says Frank Müller: “Not enough credit goes to the retoucher. That’s why Muller Brothers is a three-way collective. But not it a weird way.”

The raison d’etre of Müller Brothers Fotografie is to bring conceptualisation to advertising photography, like a great film director brings his vision to a script.

That’s why Müller Brothers actually thinks about the photography brief every step of the way. From conceptualising, to shoot day, to post-production, the Müller Brothers don’t rest until the finished image is delivered.

Says Frank Müller: “As my mum, Magdalena Müller, used to say, ‘Just think about it more. Thinking doesn’t cost more money’.”

Says Gary Müller: “I’m just rapt that I now have an umlaut.”

Says Willie Müller: “Hey, I reckon it would be good if we could get Ant Keogh, executive creative director of Clemenger Melbourne, to provide a quote for our press release.”

Says Keogh: “I’d be happy to.”
