The CAANZ PREScom event will take place on Wednesday 22 October, from 7am to 9am at at Kensington Swan, 18 Viaduct Harbour Avenue, Auckland and will showcase international award winning case studies from acclaimed industry experts Michael Knox (left), managing partner and executive creative director, Grey Melbourne and Michael Hauser (right), digital marketing manager, Tourism Victoria.

Both will present Cannes Lions award winning work; Knox will discuss “Ungiven Gifts” and “Wipe Off 5” while Hauser will focus on the 2013 “Remote Control Tourist” campaign.

Megan Clark, chair of the CAANZ PREScom, says the event’s purpose is ultimately to stimulate, educate and challenge the audience.

Says Clark: “Following the success of our first speaker event on Social Creativity, we’re delighted to have two such talented and renowned experts sharing their wealth of knowledge with us.  Using their global reaching examples, Knox and Hauser will demonstrate how best-practice integration of PR, Social and Experiential can deliver outstanding results.

“With the relationship between social and brand PR/activation growing at an exponential rate, it’s vital that the two channels are considered in unison at every stage of strategy development.  This event will showcase the outstanding campaign results that can be achieved when a client’s online and offline worlds seamlessly converge.”

First speaker Knox will give an in-depth look into two campaigns, including the 2014 Gold Cannes Lions winning campaign “Ungiven Gifts” and “Wipe Off 5” from 2013.

Says Knox of his upcoming presentation: “Road safety is no easy sell. But in 2013, Victoria’s Transport Accident Commission developed two campaigns that, though very different in execution, triggered conversations, encouraged action and produced record breaking results.”

Second speaker Hauser manages digital marketing, social media and mobile strategies for domestic and international markets; he has established numerous digital innovation projects in the Victorian Tourism and online environment over the past 15 years.

Hauser’s presentation will focus on the 2013 Remote Control Tourist campaign created by Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, which allowed Tourism Victoria to bring the wonders of Melbourne “live” to the world through the eyes of the Remote Control Tourists. He will share the successes and challenges that Tourism Victoria encountered along the way.

Says Hauser: “Every core interaction with this campaign was through digital – a real time, first-person web experience that enabled potential Melbourne visitors to ‘go before they go’ – and the results make it an ultimate example of technology meets real world.”

Limited tickets are available to this breakfast event.
