AUSTRALIAN-STORY-ABC.jpgOne half of Jungleboys directing duo The Van Vuuren Bros, Christiaan Van Vuuren will be featured on Australian Story tonight at 8pm.

The story documents Van Vuuren’s journey from making Youtube videos to pass the time while in a quarantine ward suffering from TB, to teaming up with his brother Connor and making the move into directing TV Commercials and Comedy TV Series.

Van Vuuren initially gained notoriety by posting humorous clips as the ‘Fully Sick Rapper’, and the Van Vuuren Bros went on to make a film about their experience titled ‘SICK!’ (Broadcast on MTV in 2012). They found further online success co-directing the ‘Bondi Hipsters’ series, parodying residents of the beachside suburb.

Coinciding with the soon to be released comedy series ‘Soul Mates’ on ABC2, of which the Van Vuuren Bros wrote and directed, the story interviews Van Vuuren’s doctor, family and colleagues. The Investment Manager of Screen Australia, Mike Cowap, told the program that Van Vuuren had dragged the organisation into the 21st century and forced it to take notice of YouTube as a source of great ideas and talent. From an unlikely beginning he has built a booming career thats drawn attention around the world, and is now being called a trailblazer in film and TV.
