1.-lightitup-teamselection.jpgToday, ahead of the NRL Finals, Telstra has launched an innovative app created by YinsCam. The ‘Light it Up’ app allows fans to immerse themselves in the game and share their support for their team, whether they’re at the stadium or watching at home, via the Official 2014 NRL App.

Central to Light it Up is the introduction of ‘Keepsakes’ – digital collector items that fans can superimpose onto their own images and share via social networks.

Light It Up also provides fans a ‘burning torch’ animation of their team’s logo. During Finals games fans will be asked by ground announcers to hold up their burning torch to support their team – which, along with thousands of their fellow supporters doing the same, is anticipated to create a sea of colour during finals festivities.

This type of digital fan engagement innovation is the first to be launched in Australia and is modelled on similar apps used by NFL teams in the US such as the Seattle Seahawks.

SeaEagles_Light_3.jpgSays Adam Good, Telstra director digital media & content: “Light it Up is all about immersing fans in the game in a new and innovative way.

“Fans can take and share pictures of themselves interacting with iconic Rugby League ‘keepsakes’ such as the Provan-Summons Trophy and premiership ring, and on the big screen at ANZ Stadium.

“It’s an exciting way for fans to stay connected to the Finals in a new way whether they are at the game or at home, and share immediately with their friends and fellow fans.”
