Highly-regarded across the industry for his nuanced, carefully observed spots, Mackenzie has created a multitude of award winning pieces for such high-profile clients as Lexus, Mercedes, Sears, Campbell’s, Visa, DOW, Qantas, Chrysler and the Citigroup.

Says Mackenzie when asked about what drew him to The Sweet Shop: “The people. We took the time to get to know each other. Paul put me in touch with the management team and I could see how well they worked together across the world.”

A DOP as well as a director, Mackenzie has been hailed as a “brilliant visualist” by Australian Cinematographer Quarterly and named one of the “Top 20 Directors of All Time” by Campaign Brief. His hauntingly beautiful “less is more” aesthetic and reputation for tirelessly seeking out the perfect, emotionally charged image has lead to accolades from Cannes, Adfest, the London International Advertising Awards, and MADC among others.

Says Paul Prince, The Sweet Shop’s CEO/founding partner: “Iain is a legend. The quality of his work is so much bigger than what you can see on the screen. It’s in the DNA of everything he does; his tireless focus, his attention to detail, his warm interpersonal style. In short, he is a representative of everything we are and everything we strive to be at The Sweet Shop. We are proud he has chosen to become part of our team.”

Says Wilf Sweetland, managing director of The Sweet Shop Australia: “Iain is one of the giants of the industry. His aesthetic, his manner and his collaborative spirit are very well known amongst Creatives and I am really looking forward to working with him.”

Mackenzie’s signing is yet another example of The Sweet Shop’s ongoing commitment to high-end craft and storytelling.
