Cookson has an extensive background in sales and account services and will play a key role in delivering high quality results and excellence in client service. Most recently in an APAC VP role at NASDAQ OMX, Cookson was also part of the management team at adrenalin.com.au where he worked closely with BTL agencies on delivering a number of award winning promotional campaigns.

Says Simon Cubbin, managing director, Zoo Sydney: “We’ve seen a rapid take up of Zoo Advertising’s offering in the Sydney market and the appointment of Sean Cookson reflects our current growth trajectory. Our research based approach and focus on delivering real value add initiatives is really resonating with clients and I look forward to Sean continuing to drive our Sydney business.”

With its continued growth, Zoo Sydney has a number of senior management and creative positions it expects to recruit for in the coming 12 months to continue to win great clients and produce exceptional creative work.

Lauren.jpgIn more news for the company Zoo Shopper, a specialist group division available to service the four existing Zoo agencies across Australia and New Zealand, has launched.

Zoo Shopper brings together the resources of Zoo Advertising and the insights and shopper capabilities of leading FMCG professionals. Lauren Kurensky, previously head of shopper marketing and insights for Colgate Palmolive, will lead the Zoo Shopper business.

With a background spanning 20 years in FMCG and finance industries, Kurensky has significant experience and expertise in developing and commercialising insights, and building and activating shopper programs that deliver winning outcomes for retailers and manufacturers.

Says Joanna Robinson, strategic marketing consultant, will work with Kurensky. Robinson has a solid background with FMCG companies; P&G, J&J, Colgate Palmolive, Unilever and Estee Lauder, based both in Australia and in the Middle East. In the past she has worked extensively on driving strategic retailer partnerships in the marketplace and now seeks to leverage that expertise with Zoo Shopper.

Says Cubbin: “We have seen an increased interest in the broader role that brands play in the shopping journey of consumers. The launch of Zoo Shopper helps brands understand that journey and how they can develop integrated campaigns to achieve their growth targets. Lauren has been working with us for some time on this initiative and we are really excited to be launching this new venture with her. The extension of brands from their traditional environments into the digital and social space is one of the key trends impacting buyer behaviour today.”
