CFS encourages South Australians to be ‘bushfire ready’ in a campaign via Black Sheep Advertising

SportsClubPosters.jpgBlack Sheep Advertising has launched a new campaign for Country Fire Services (CFS) which encourages South Australians to be bushfire ready.

The campaign for 2014 is about engagement and then action. The campaign suggests to those at risk, that they can mitigate that risk by taking a few simple, familiar steps.

The campaign aims to champion the notion of bushfire preparedness and those who have a go. Together with their lawnmowers, pruning saws and battery powered radios, they become South Australia’s Ultimate Firefighters.

There is strong evidence to suggest that major gains can be made through stronger community engagement. And these are communities in the broadest terms – co-opting Footy Clubs, Service Clubs and business groups will be an efficient way of influencing greater numbers. This will only compliment the already great work carried out by The CFS in communities right across South Australia. This year CFS is trialling this additional effort by focusing on communities within The Adelaide Hills and Port Lincoln, areas that are a perennial risk.
