Copy_School_TNW_Stacked_RGB copy.jpgCopy School is unique. The tutors are some of the best copywriters and creative directors in the business. No academics.

The Newspaper Works continues to enthusiastically support Copy School as they see the immediate and long term value in encouraging agency creativity.

All Copy School’s tutors volunteer their services because they want to put something valuable back into the business. They talk about what they have learnt and advise what works best for the client will work best for the student.

The tutors are: Justin Drape, Jonatan Kneebone, Mark Sharman, Grant Booker, Ben Welsh, Ralph van Dijk, “Moose” Moore, Ted Horton, plus a top newspaper journalist.

Successful creatives are successful because they understand the commercial realities. Great copywriters who employ this develop a great working relationship with the client on behalf of their agency.

As they say, “There are many roads to Rome” and Copy School’s tutors reflect this. There is no one philosophy and the different disciplines each tutor employs opens up a colourful landscape for a young copywriter.

Copy School does not pre judge aspiring young copywriters as they come from various backgrounds and circumstances. What we look for is the passion to be a great copywriter.

The Copy School class is small, for a reason. The tutors engage each one in conversation and encourages questions. These are not lofty talks delivered on high from behind a lectern.

There are only participants, no passengers. At least one assignment is given, to be completed and presented on the Friday.

The Copy School concept has been encouraging young writers for more than ten years.

If there is a young hopeful copywriter in your agency or client organisation with that passion, it could be an important step for them in their career.

The $250 fee for each student will be wholly donated to the OASIS Centre, a refuge for young people run by the Salvation Army.
