McElroy specialises in comedy and visual storytelling and his passion as a director is bringing scripts to life and making the best of any production.

McElroy started his career as an editor, cutting his teeth as an edit assist at Beyond Entertainment and Graham Mcneice Productions, before landing a job as full-time editor at JWT Sydney. He realised he really wanted to direct and in 2008 he directed ‘Kit Kat Chunga’ which collected a lot of awards, including a Gold Effie and a Bronze AWARD Award.

Since then, he has directed over 60 commercials, including big campaigns for Kellogg’s and Kleenex, as well as SBS, Hungry Jacks, NSW Government and HSBC. This year, a comedy spot McElroy shot for Combantrin won at Cannes.

Says McElroy: “This is all I have ever wanted to do and Rabbit is amazing place with really talented people.”

Says Alex Hay, executive producer, Rabbit: “Jesse is a rare talent. He has a brilliant mind for comedy but he can also perfectly execute drama and visual narrative. He invests so much of himself in every project he touches and you feel this upon seeing the end result. We feel very lucky to have Jesse on our roster.”
