2c6e758.jpgNucleus is a full-service creative agency made up of professionals specialising in the fields of marketing strategy, branding, design, advertising, digital, social media and video.

Founded in 2007 by co-directors Brenton Gowland and Gavin Benda, 2014 sees the appointment of a third director – Jason Cotton – as innovation practice director; broadening the level of services for its clients and driving innovation.

With this appointment comes the launch of their latest product – Ideasbank – enabling businesses to take innovative ideas about how to improve their business and put them into action.

Says Gowland: “Ultimately, Ideasbank is the evolution of the suggestion box. Many businesses do not quite understand what innovation really means. You can say that innovation is creating something new that adds value, but we are trying to break it down into simpler terms by doing things better, faster, safer and more cost effectively.”

Ideasbank has already been sold to clients such as SA Power Networks and Powercor, and is the first of its kind to be custom built and commercially designed in Australia.

Having over 20 years of global experience in the development of capability building initiatives to systemically embed a greater capacity for employees to develop innovative approaches to their work and business challenges, Jason is an Innovation specialist.

Says Cotton: “We engage people in not just creative thinking exercises but also teach them how to implement that, how to deliver the outcomes, and how to commercialise.

“We explain to people that it’s not hard and ultimately it’s going to create benefit,” says Jason Cotton.

Innovation refers to different things to different companies, with each innovation strategy tailored to the specific requirements and objectives of the said business.

Nucleus sells Ideasbank to a business as a product that they can brand as their own, then works with them to implement it within their company.

Says Gowland: “Creating an innovation framework within a company is like making its nervous system work so the hand can talk to the brain and the body can work as a unit.”

Nucleus has recently moved to a bigger and brighter office space located in the heart of the Adelaide CBD, and has also just finished working with Bendigo Bank in the advertising realm on the development of their ‘Wealth Made Simple’ video series; a suite of animations that assist to clarify wealth building strategies for their customers.
