Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 7.58.17 am.jpgTelecommunications company iiNet and agency Ensemble have begun crowd sourcing an anthem for the Sydney Sixers Big Bash League cricket team.

Says Alicia Phillis, iiNet sponsorship manager: “A great team needs a great song, and as the Sixers’ principal partner we’re encouraging fans to create a strong anthem as a powerful rallying point for the new season. For the next generation of cricket fans, we’re excited to deliver this innovative Big Bash League first.”

Today the first verse of the song will be revealed on sixershistory.com.au, as sung by some of the Sydney Sixers team. Fans will be encouraged to contribute their talents to build the song both online, and at Big Bash live events managed by Ensemble.

At each of the Sydney Sixers home games at the SCG, iiNet will host a Sing for the Sixers Video Booth where fans can sing along to the new team song and receive their own video recording. Fans will be able to go online to sixershistory.com.au to enter their line for the second verse and for their chance to win the ultimate fan experience.

Says Dominic Remond, Sixers general manager: “This is a fantastic example of a true partnership, working with iiNet and our Members and fans. It is all about having a deeper connection with our club, allowing our supporters to be part of history, creating a song that will be sung at the ground and in the change room.

“The opportunity to work with world class producers and artists is a perfect fit with the Sixers brand.”
