Says David Handley, founder and CEO, Sculpture by the Sea: “I’ve known Simon for some years now and he’s always looked for opportunities to leverage his advertising experience and creative thinking to help Sculpture by the Sea grow. We’re delighted to have him come on board to help inject some new ideas and energy into the organisation.”

Bloomfield, who recently moved into the CD role at MercerBell, has been an active supporter of Sculpture by the Sea for over 10 years.

Says Bloomfield: “I regard Sculpture by the Sea as a truly iconic Australian event, worthy of recognition across the globe. I’m incredibly honoured to be invited onto the board and look forward to contributing to the ongoing development of the event, particularly as we approach the Sydney show’s 20th anniversary in 2016.”

A key project of Bloomfield’s for Sculpture by the Sea is the development and launch of a young patrons program, to help identify and engage the next generation of Australian philanthropists. As part of this project, he recently enlisted students from the ADMA Creative School course to contribute potential branding and promotional ideas, a number of which are currently under consideration for the program’s launch in 2015.
