Love is Now 3.jpgA new Australian-made feature film is premiering this week that is the result of a partnership between Nikon Australia and Eponine Films, a Sydney based production company. The partnership was brokered by Ensemble Australia.

The 97-minute film is called Love is Now and was shot on Nikon D810 DSLR cameras and Nikkor lenses.

Love is Now 4.jpgSays Justin Ricketts, CEO, Ensemble: “We brought Eponine Films and Nikon Australia together because the quality and capabilities of Nikon’s products are so advanced now that a highly-detailed feature movie can easily be shot on Nikon’s DSLR and lens equipment to achieve imagery that would usually require large-scale film making equipment.

“Love is Now is a stunningly beautiful film and we think the Australian cinema public will be moved by the storyline and the high quality of production.”

Love is Now is the intriguing and mysterious story of experienced photographer Audrey (Van Der Boom) and aspiring snapper Dean (Farren). The couple embark on a formative country adventure following the NSW Harvest Trail where they discover significantly more than they ever expected along the way.

Eponine Films is a Sydney-based boutique production company dedicated to producing distinctive feature films, television programing and documentaries.  The business was established by filmmakers Behren Schulz and Jim Lounsbury.

The company produced Love is Now on a modest budget using the recently released Nikon D810 camera and Nikkor lenses. The film has taken just 23 weeks to produce from the start of pre production to this week’s premiere.

It is a great example for budding filmmakers of the capabilities of the Nikon and Nikkor equipment. The film’s exhibition partner HOYTS is screening the film in 23 cinemas nationwide.  Universal Pictures has secured international rights for the film.
