Pound director Michael Shanks creates ‘George Lucas’ Special Edition’ of the new Star Wars trailer
Recently signed Pound director Michael Shanks has created “George Lucas Special Edition” of the new Star Wars trailer, which has cracked 2m YouTube views in less than a day.
Shanks’ remix is an irreverent look at the notion of Lucas being put in charge of directing the trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
With an effort that looks set to surpass Shanks’ other widely viewed YouTube pieces, most notably his “Mario Kart” inspired version of the Sochi Olympic Speed Skating, his latest video has also quickly risen to number 1 on Reddit’s Front Page.
Having already established himself in the world of music videos and short films with his polished effect laden style and quirky sense of humour, Shanks has joined up with The Pound for commercial work.
Says Shanks: “I joined up with The Pound because my cat thought it would be a good idea to get me out of the house and meet people, just convenient we ended up working together so well.”
