Sonar scores swag of awards at the Australian Screen Sound and Screen Music Awards

Sonar Photo One .jpgSettling the year on a high note, Sonar has collected a swag of accolades at the recent Australian Screen Sound and Screen Music Awards off the back of completing its new state-of-the-art sound post facility and bolstering talent with new TVC team – composer Alejandro Gomez, sound engineer Stuart Welch and producer Sophie Haydon.

Taking out the ASCG & ASSG Award’s Best Original Song Composed for The Screen (‘Don’t Let Go’ for Rake), Best Sound for TVC (Protocol ‘Ubisoft Ghost’) and Best Sound for a Tele Movie (Killing Fields) cemented Sonar’s winning streak after claiming Best Original Music Score in Television at this year’s Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Awards for series Redfern Now.

Sonar Photo Two.jpgSonar celebrates the return of prodigal son, composer and producer Jono Ma, who has been touring internationally with his band Jagwar Ma performing at iconic festivals including Glastonbury and Coachella.  

Sonar’s multi-talented composer, producer and director Andrew Lancaster has also lapped up praise, achieving rave reviews at the premier of his Sonar Photo Three.jpglatest feature film, The Lost Aviator, which Vulture Hound Magazine cited as: “The hidden gem we’ve been waiting for from this year’s London Film Festival”.  

The premier sound and post facility has seen Sonar continue to work on an impressive stable of projects ranging from awarded local TV series (Redfern Now, Love Child and First Contact) through to Sonar Photo Four Jono Ma.jpginternational series (ABC U.S. Secrets and Lies) and campaigns for Volkswagen, Replay, Tiger Beer, Adidas and Helgas.

The facility now contains two dedicated 5.1 TVC studios, one dedicated film mixing studio and one pre-mixing studio, two V/O booths and four edit suites.
