Stuart_Dee_campaignedge-web.jpgWell-known creative director, author, and regular Gruen, and Sky News panelist, Dee Madigan has joined forces with suit Stuart Gillies to form Campaign Edge, with offices in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne.

The pair have already made a name for themselves in political circles after being appointed by the Queensland Labor party to develop and execute the advertising as well as the digital strategy and social media marketing for the recent election campaign. The advertising strategy was described by ALP pollsters UMR as having been “executed near perfectly.”

Says Madigan: “I was fed up with ad agencies telling their clients that ‘it’s all about engagement’. They are either lying to themselves or lying to their clients. Engagement without persuasion is a waste of money. We are in the business of persuasion.”

Madigan spent more than a decade working in brand agencies such as Lowe, and Cummins, and then a further decade working for social marketing agencies.

“There are agencies who specialise in social marketing and agencies who specialise in branding. But successful campaigns – whether you’re selling a product or a political party – require both. And that’s what Campaign Edge does.”

Managing director Gillies, who was previously associate director at national communications agency Essential Media Communications (EMC), has been involved in developing some of Australia’s biggest social and member-based campaigns, including the Every Australian Counts campaign for the NDIS, and the Fight for the Reef campaign. He has worked on over 50 major campaigns for member-based organisations, unions, not-for-profits, government bodies, and environmental advocacy groups.

Campaign Edge includes full production and post-production facilities.
