Creative agency Ensemble has hired one of Australia’s best-known content development executives Andrew Garrick to boost the agency’s capabilities in the creation and development of its content solutions.

Says Justin Ricketts, CEO, Ensemble: “Andrew will be a key driver for us in demonstrating to clients the value and effectiveness of quality programming that engages audiences because of its entertainment value first, then brand message second.

“The paradigm around TVCs being the most effective platform to influence TV audiences is changing. Clients are looking to move to more innovative ways to engage audiences and content creation is becoming an increasingly important part of the marketing mix.”

Garrick is a highly accomplished comedy director, writer and development producer. He has undertaken major projects with Channels Seven and Ten, the ABC, SBS, MTV and BBC Worldwide. He has worked with leading independent production companies including Shine and Beyond and has a long list of commercial producing and directing credits.

Garrick said he was impressed with Ensemble’s results-oriented approach to content creation and the momentum that the agency has achieved in recent years.

Says Garrick: “Ensemble and the wider IPG Mediabrands group have a vast array of clients who have a unique opportunity to talk directly with their consumers. Consumers are audiences – people hate being sold to, but do want to be entertained by cool stuff. Ensemble is uniquely placed to embrace that truth and make compelling, funny, exciting work that consumers actually want to watch and engage with.

“The past few years have shown that clients can create original content and seed it across their own digital platforms as well as third party media. Marketers can draw people closer to their brands with tailored content. I was told to say that line.”
