LG-tvc-cricket.jpgLG Australia has launched a major TV and digital advertising which is on air now and throughout the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 on Channel 9 and Fox Sports.

The 30 and 60 second TVCs, created by HS Ad, Seoul, support the LG OLED TV, with the ad focusing on those that go beyond the limit to produce amazing pictures. The story told in the TVCs draws a parallel with LG’s OLED TV that goes beyond the limit and boasts unbeatable black and amazingly vivid colours.

LG Australia has appointed legendary Australian batsman David Warner to front the campaign. In typical form, Warner was big achiever from that start, working behind the scenes and getting involved with LG on various marketing initiatives as well as being available for media interviews.

Late last year and into 2015, LG Australia ran an online competition to seek out children from across the country to walk onto the ground at the start of every game during the ICC Cricket World Cup to sing the national anthem alongside the cricketing superstars. Parents or guardians could put their kids forward by answering in 25 words or less what it would mean to them to be an ‘LG Anthem Kid’ for the day. Through a targeted media campaign that engaged with major metro newspapers, local news and sports specific sites alike, LG saw competition entries flooding in for games in every Australian host city.

Earlier this month LG announced its support for Make-A-Wish Australia by offering a very special experience for a group of Australian children with life-threatening medical conditions. The Make-A-Wish kids have been invited by LG to form part of the LG Anthem Kids Program, at a designated game; arguably Australia’s most important group game against Sri Lanka on Sunday 8th March at the SCG.

“The opportunity to host a major global sporting event like the ICC Cricket World Cup comes to Australia and New Zealand once in a blue moon, as a host nation and one of the longest-standing global sponsors of the tournament it’s the prime time for LG Australia to really push the boundaries as far as our marketing activity is concerned,” said Lambro Skropidis, general manager, Marketing at LG Electronics Australia.

“As we ramp up into the last period of marketing execution – in tournament – we are looking forward to seeing the hard work take shape and wish both David Warner and the LG Anthem Kids good luck and good times.”
