Jules_CB_1.jpgLeo Burnett Sydney studio manager and artist Julia Odgers is set to showcase her work at the ‘Spectrum Now’ Festival following her successful debut curation of a group art show last year.

This year’s exhibition at ‘Spectrum Now’ Festival will focus on attendees using their imagination, as the interactive space at Play Bar breaks down the barriers for a fun and adventurous evening.

Odgers is one of six artists displaying their work from a diverse mix of disciplines including neon signage, illustration, fine art and graphic art – all based around the theme, Never Forget to Play. The notion is all about getting back to basics when life was uncomplicated and fun.

Jules_CB_2.jpgOdgers’ artwork is laser etched into wood and symbolises finding that special someone who is ultimately your “partner in crime”.

Says Odgers: “To allow people to have a night away from the 9 to 5 by immersing themselves in a playground full of art, music and spoken word.”

To keep the interactive theme running throughout the night, a photo booth will be on hand for those partial to embracing their alter ego and dressing up for a bit of a laugh.

Odgers is always looking for ways to “entice people to forget about the daily grind and have a little fun”.

With this is mind; Odgers is collaborating with Play Bar and Behind the Front, who have organised the entertainment for the evening. ‘Experiential engineer’ Bravo Child will be performing through the power of spoken word, with live music performed by 10-piece band Bateria 61 and DJ edseven laying down the groove.

This is a one-night-only FREE event, tomorrow – Friday March 20 from 6pm at Play Bar, 72 Campbell Street, Surry Hills.
