c3.jpgUPDATED – Commune, Sydney’s first exclusive co-working space for the creative industry, has launched a campaign via crowdfunding site Pozible to expand its capacity to meet the increasing demand to support Sydney’s creative community.

This initiative is building on Commune’s pioneering vision to create a healthy balanced work culture amongst freelancers and start-ups.

Founded in 2012 by freelance designer Sam Ali, Commune was designed as a platform to foster support and collaboration within the creative industry.

Says Ali: “I got back from a stint in Melbourne and was disappointed with the lack of support in the Sydney creative scene. We’re all about collaboration over competition. It’s been great to see a gradual shift over the past 3 years.”

Commune allows freelancers and start-ups to keep the creative freedom and independence they love whilst having the backing of a collective and experienced force, connecting businesses and creatives with their peers from other sectors. Commune provides everything from co-working facilities, photography studios, art gallery and workshop spaces.

Says Ali: “I know from experience working from home can be isolated and distracting. We designed Commune to be a space that makes the process as easy as possible for to be creative and productive whilst maintaining a healthy work/life balance.

“With no huge financial commitments or complicated processes. You’ll be able to just drop in, grab a good coffee and work as long as you need.”

Commune Co-Working streamlines the process of running an office by removing the overheads and offering everything businesses need under one roof. Facilities include affordable and dynamic workspaces, unlimited business-grade Internet, flexible client meeting rooms and access to a network of creative talent.

Says Ali: “Our Pozible campaign aims to raise funds so that we can expand our offering and take things to a whole new level never seen in Sydney. We’re not just building a new space, we’re redesigning co-working.”

Commune’s Pozible campaign is aiming to raise $30,000 in just 30 days. Pozible supporters will have the opportunity to become a Commune founding member – benefits of which include heavily discounted rates for its facilities, 24-hour access, and exclusive offers from industry partners.

Says Ali: “We want your name to be on the honour wall next to ours. To be a part of Commune and help us make this happen. Get involved, be part of something.”
