There are 345 finalists from 37 countries. Overall, The One Show received more than 20,000 entries from agencies in 65 countries.

Leo Burnett Sydney leads the Australian agency charge scoring 10 out of 18 finalists from Australia. Whybin\TBWA Group Melbourne has been shortlisted four times. Leo Burnett Melbourne has scored two finalists and M&C Saatchi Sydney and DDB Melbourne have both scored one finalist each.

While other One Show categories, such as cross-platform and film, saw a rise in light-hearted advertising as an apparent reaction to recent years full of “sadvertising,” social media and UX/UI formed vehicles for more dramatic messages. Finalists such as Memac Ogilvy’s “The Autocomplete Truth Breaks All Barriers” for UN Women and Droga5’s “Gisele Bundchen – Will Beats Noise” for Under Armor created interactive experiences that challenged our perceptions of social issues.

One Show Pencil winners will have the opportunity to present their award-winning work at the Pencil Winners Showcase in front of hundreds of creative leaders from around the world on May 7th at the Metropolitan Pavilion in New York City during Creative Week, the preeminent festival celebrating advertising and the arts.

Says Kevin Swanepoel, chief executive officer of The One Club: “There is no other awards show in the world that gives its award winners the opportunity that The One Show does. Not only do Pencil winners receive one of the highest honors in the creative industries, but they are also given this unique opportunity to get on stage in front of the elite of the elite and discuss their work.  It’s an opportunity for creative agencies to inspire and energize their all-stars, and for the best creatives in the world to learn from each other.”

Gold Pencil winners across all disciplines will be announced at The One Show at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on May 8th, 2015.
