The Glue Society Studios opens in Alexandria

1_TGSS.jpgThe Glue Society today opens a new studio and art facility in Sydney’s Alexandria – which can be hired out by the creative community for the execution of editorial, advertising and design projects.

The 800m2 warehouse space features a fully equipped photographic cyclorama, design and construction workshop, editing and grading suites, and doubles as an exhibition and event space.

2_TGSS.jpgSays Jonathan Kneebone, co-founder, The Glue Society: “For many years we’ve been wanting to set up a studio which allowed for a more immediate mixing of craft and concept – in a much more hands on way. But we also wanted to establish something that would have a broader benefit than 3_TGSS.jpgjust ourselves or for our own projects.

“And this space has been designed to allow craft to flourish and encourage a more experimental approach to making ideas a reality.”

The various facilities are available for hire by contacting the studio 4_TGSS.jpgmanager, Scott Stirling via The Glue Society Studio website – www.gluesocietystudios.com or on (02) 9667 4587.

Prior to this official opening, the studio has already housed a number of events including a photographic exhibition for 5_TGSS.jpgSark Clothing, featuring the work of image-makers from around the world, and the D&AD/Google New Blood Academy workshop, where 30 students conceived, photographed, filmed and presented a solution to a brief within one day.

6_TGSS.jpgOther recent projects included the design work for the latest ANZ GAYTM installations, photography of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, and the filming of a music video for the Polish Club.

7_TGSS.jpgThe Glue Society Studios will also house the upcoming Sydney leg of the Ciclope Festival world tour on Thursday 23 April.

Other upcoming initiatives include a series of Creative Masterclasses – where industry professionals and students can participate in Life Drawing, Photography and Cinematography courses.
